Tuesday, Nov. 7, 5:30 pm: Movable Feast in Palm Beach Gardens at Hayashi Japanese Restaurant, 4204 Northlake Blvd, Palm Beach Gardens. A family restaurant tucked into the Publix plaza between I-95 and Military Trail in the Gardens Town Square. They have a wide range of classic Japanese dishes from sushi, chirashi, and teriyaki to udon and yaki-soba. In addition, they serve Korean barbecue, bulgogi, and other Korean specialties. They have been very accommodating for our group. RSVP on Meetup or to Amy Shaughnessy at aesdth@yahoo.com or 561-352-9245. |

Sunday, Nov. 12, 5:30pm: Second Sunday Dinner at Tim Finnegan's Irish Pub, 2885 S. Federal Hwy., Delray Beach, 561-330-3153 (https://timfinnegansirishpub.com/). Voted the "Best Irish Community Pub" in 2017 -- maybe it still has that atmosphere. We will have the back room so we won't be competing with Irish toasts like "slainte is tainte." Typical Irish fare -- Bavarian (!) Pretzel with beer cheese, sausage rolls, Tim's wings, Irish potato soup, Angus burgers, Dublin dip, Shepherd's Pie, corned beef and cabbage. RSVP on Meetup or elissa12@bellsouth.net or 561-703-9898 by November 11 at noon. |

Thursday, Nov. 16, 6:00pm: Virtual Happy Hour to Discuss Books. At least three of the four books suggested for October's meeting will be the ongoing focus this month, since none of us had read all of them yet. In particular, the two very different books on aspects of thinking ("How Minds Change" by David McRaney, and "Thinking Fast and Slow" by Daniel Khaneman) merit additional time and focus. This month's Zoom will also allow us to catch up on the subjects of past selections! Meeting ID: 858 0295 0276, Passcode: happy (Zoom link). RSVP on Meetup or to Amy Shaughnessy at aesdth@yahoo.com or at 561-352-9245. |

Tuesday, Nov. 28, 5:30 pm: Happy Hour in Boynton Beach at Bramer's Brazilian Cuisine, 1035 Gateway Blvd. #201, Boynton Beach. Careful readers may have noticed that the editor messed up for the last two months and mistakenly repeated the description from the Prosecco Happy Hour of three months ago twice more instead of the proper descriptions for the next happy hours. Finally, here's the right one for this month: A Happy Hour (4-8, Monday-Friday) for wine and beer, and various small plates/appetizers, pizzas and burgers. Note that some of the Brazilian specialties have interesting Italian influences. And there are lots of desserts. Please RSVP on Meetup or to Amy Shaughnessy at aesdth@yahoo.com or 561-352-9245. |

Sunday, Dec. 3, 5:00 pm: North County Gathering in Port Saint Lucie! Included here in case you don't get the December newsletter on time. Let's pretend we are in Bangkok for a minute (close your eyes); let's check out a highly recommended restaurant called Spice Thai Cuisine at 270 NW Peacock Blvd #108, Port St. Lucie, FL 34986, less than a mile from I 95, Exit 121 (St Lucie West Blvd.). Aside from an extensive Thai menu, they feature sushi and a few Japanese and Chinese dishes as well. RSVP on Meetup or text 772 212 6268 with the number in your party if more than 1. |
