Palm Beach Area Mensa Events

Tuesday, Mar. 3 at 6:00pm: Happy Hour at Carmine's La Trattoria Restaurant, 2401 PGA Boulevard # 172, Palm Beach Gardens. Here they call it "Carmine's Daily Happiness" and it runs 3:00-7:00 at the inside and outside bars. They offer 50% off all drinks and a bar bites menu for $5 to $8 (chicken wings, calamari, margherita flatbreads, and more). Located in a plaza at the northeast corner of Prosperity Farms Road and PGA Blvd. RSVP by the night before on MeetUp or to Amy at 561-964-3283.

[Palm Beach]

Friday, Mar. 6 at 7pm: First Friday Dinner at Payathai Asian Bistro, 5879 South Congress Ave., Atlantis (Lantana, NW corner of Lantana Rd. and Congress Ave.). Since this is a Thai restaurant, if you choose, the food can be spicy. **RESERVATIONS**: VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU REPLY: RSVP to Barry at 561-425-5675, barrykaras7314@comcast.net, or through the Meetup.

Sunday, Mar. 8 at 5:30pm: Second Sunday Dinner at Submarine Crab Wellington, 10140 Forest Hill Blvd #170, Wellington. Second Sunday Dinner at Submarine Crab in Wellington, http://www.submarinecrab.net/#story. "The Submarine Crab has finally surfaced! With deep roots from Louisiana and Texas, Submarine Crab is reinventing how crawfish and seafood is consumed. Now you can dive into a new eatery experience that will have your taste buds salivating at the mere mention of Submarine Crab." We shall see if this glowing review holds true! RSVP by Sat. noon to elissa12@bellsouth.net or on MeetUp.

[Palm Beach]

Thursday, Mar. 12 at 5:30pm: Moveable Feast at Tiramisł Pizzeria & Trattoria, 12100 US-1 Ste A, North Palm Beach. The Sunset Menu (3:00-6:00 - don't be late!) is $20, a particularly good value given their reputation for generous portions. Especially praised by a PB Post restaurant critic is the Tagliatelle Bolognese - noodles made in-house with high-quality ingredients and tossed with a flavorful meat ragu. Just a little north of Juno Road. RSVP by the night before on MeetUp or to Amy at 561-964-3283.

[Palm Beach]

Saturday, Mar. 21 at 12:30pm: Lunch Bunch at Galini Greek Restaurant, 7491 N Federal Hwy #10, Boca Raton. A departure - lunch on Saturday. This casual but nicely decorated Greek place always has good prices, but on Saturdays there's a special on gyros for $5.99. Worth the drive? I think so. In a big Publix shopping center in the northern reaches of Federal Hwy. RSVP by the night before on MeetUp or to Amy at 561-964-3283.

Thursday, Mar. 26 at 6:00pm: CANCELED Happy Hour at Pescatore Ristorante, 1600 N Dixie Hwy, West Palm Beach. A new twist on an old favorite revived as "Italian casual fine dining", which I guess means casual dress but upscale cuisine. The 5-7:00 Happy Hour offers $5 well drinks, $7 martinis, and 30% off wine. And such bar bites as bruschetta ($6); meatballs, mussels ($7); and margherita pizzette. Several blocks north of WPB and Good Samaritan Hospital, with parking available in their lot behind the restaurant. RSVP by the night before on MeetUp or to Amy at 561-964-3283.
