Friday, May 4 at 7pm: First Friday Dinner at Payathai Asian Bistro, 5879 South Congress Ave., Atlantis (Lantana, NW corner of Lantana Rd. and Congress Ave.). Obviously, this is a Thai restaurant. If you choose, the food can be spicy. Service is good and prices are reasonable. Saturday, May 19 at 11am: Weekend Brunch at Mazie's, 3815 South Dixie Highway, West Palm Beach. They call it a casual neighborhood place on Antiques Row - "New American cuisine rooted in Old World traditions". The brunch menu includes bagel with cream cheese and sour cream pancakes with blueberries, as well as such novel fare as fattoush (grilled salmon and tabbouleh) and an open-faced hanger steak sandwich on garlic bread. RSVP to Amy Shaughnessy at 561-964-3283 or rpwassn@yahoo.com. (See Meetup.) |

Sunday, May 20 at 5pm: Happy Hour at The Talk House, 514 NW Dixie Highway, Stuart. This used to be Courtines located by the old Roosevelt Bridge. While it was sad to see our favorite upscale burger place, Courtine's go out of business, the old-timey building still stands with a new name. The "Talk House" is alleged to be trendy and amenable to conversation which is what we do best. The menu is interesting. I hope lots of folks can make it even if it's just for a drink since HAPPY HOUR goes till 6 PM. RSVP by Saturday, 5/19 so the correct number of seats can be reserved. Looking forward to seeing everyone again. Laura Bulawski, bulaws7@aol.com or on Meetup. |
