Palm Beach Area Mensa Events

Sunday, Apr. 2 at 5:30pm: Meet for the Palm Beach Area Mensa First Sunday dinner at Palm Springs Pizza & Restaurant, Palm Springs Pizza -- Forest Hills Center, 3087 Forest Hill Blvd., West Palm Beach (561-964-3500). Wednesday, Apr. 5 at 6:30pm: Magnificent Mensa Scribes meets at Rainberry Bay Clubhouse, Lake Ida Road, Delray Beach. Enjoy the literary vibes of the Magnificent Mensa Scribes. Are you a writer or aspire to be one? Join our Mensan Extraordinaire Prudy Taylor Board and the Scribes to hone your skills and to learn about getting published. For info, contact prudytaylorboard@att.net. (See Meetup.)

Friday, Apr. 7 at 7pm: First Friday Dinner at Payathai Asian Bistro, 5879 South Congress Ave., Atlantis (Lantana, NW corner of Lantana Rd. and Congress Ave.). Obviously, this is a Thai restaurant. If you choose, the food can be spicy. Service is good and prices are reasonable. The place has limited space, so it's important that you RSVP to Barry at 561-964-4360, barrykaras7314@comcast.net, or through the Meetup.

Tuesday, Apr. 11 at noon: Lunch Bunch at Eddie and Anthony's, 4749 N. Congress Ave., Boynton Beach. Fairly typical neighborhood Italian restaurant, but it seems to be well appreciated by the local audience - slightly crowded and friendly. Lunch specials including salads and $7.99 large cheese pizzas. In a shopping plaza at the southwest corner of Congress and Hypoluxo (near a former Publix that is now a Presidente supermarket). RSVP required: Amy Shaughnessy (aesdth@yahoo.com or 561-964-3283) (See Meetup.)

[Palm Beach]

Tuesday, Apr. 18 at 5:45pm: Movable Feast at CobbleStone Grill, 10233 Okeechobee Blvd., Royal Palm Beach. We were here last year, shortly after their grand opening in January, as the reincarnation of 264 The Grill in Palm Beach. It has received good reviews and certainly has good prices - $15.95 prix fixe (correctly spelled!) menu until 6:30, so don't be late; a Happy Hour at the bar precedes. Mall-ish setting WAY out Okeechobee Blvd., near the big Target plaza at SR 7, so plenty of parking. RSVP required: Amy Shaughnessy (aesdth@yahoo.com or 561-964-3283) (See Meetup.)

Sunday, Apr. 23 at noon: Brunch at Burt & Max's, 9089 West Atlantic Avenue, Delray Beach. I've decided to try Sunday brunch here again, because of the prices for their new specials. In addition to the regular brunch menu, they have $8.95 brunch plates: Pastrami hash, Biscuits & gravy, and the All-American. Located in the Delray Marketplace, with ample parking. It may be rather crowded, so RSVPs are essential: Amy Shaughnessy (aesdth@yahoo.com or 561-964-3283) (See Meetup.)
