Tuesday, August 2 at noon: Lunch Bunch at Joy Noodles & Rice, 2200 S. Dixie Hwy, West Palm Beach. A smallish, friendly place in a bright red building, serving Asian dishes from all over - some spicy, some a bit sweet, everything that goes with noodles or rice. Prices are modest, but there are chef's specialty dishes that venture into higher realms. Small parking lot off the street. (RSVP Amy, aesdth@yahoo.com or see Meetup.) |

Wednesday, August 3 at 6:30pm: Magnificent Mensa Scribes meets at the clubhouse where Prudy Taylor Board lives in Rainberry Bay, Delray Beach. For directions, interested members should call Prudy at 561-702-6138 or email her at prudytaylorboard@att.net. Bring your writing so everyone can critique it... don't worry, you get to critique everybody else's writing too. Afterwards, if anyone wants to, we can get something to eat. |

Friday, August 5 at 7pm: First Friday Dinner at Payathai Asian Bistro, 5879 South Congress Ave., Atlantis (Lantana, NW corner of Lantana Rd. and Congress Ave.). Obviously, this is a Thai restaurant. If you choose, the food can be spicy. Service is good and prices are reasonable. The place has limited space, so it's important that you RSVP to Barry at 561-964-4360, barrykaras7314@comcast.net, or through the Meetup. [was postponed to August 12] |

Thursday, August 11 at 6pm: Movable Feast at Kirby's Sports Grille, 841 Donald Ross Rd., Juno Beach. OK, it's a "sports grille", but Kirby's menu features such specialties as steamed shrimp with Old Bay seasoning, chicken quesadillas, and 100% jumbo lump Maryland crab cakes! For more turf than surf, there's the Kirby Burger and, of course, Kirby's potato thingies ("not a fry, not a chip"). Their daily happy hour (2-7 pm) is also outstanding, with shrimp, lump crab dip, and cheese pizza. (RSVP Amy, aesdth@yahoo.com or see Meetup.) |

Saturday, August 13 at 11am: ExComm Meeting at Mike Yamrick's home, 9860-B Cassia Tree Way, Boynton Beach. |

Sunday, August 14 at 4pm: [CANCELED] Second Sunday Dinner at Tokyo - Peking 99 Cuisine, 6806 Forest Hill Blvd., Greenacres. Sponsored by Mensa VP Tim Hunter, (561) 352-4336. Please use Meet-up to RSVP so we have best possible "count". The Tokyo Peking 99 location is in a slightly irregular shopping center...look for the Publix grocery and the Mensa/restaurant meeting place is slightly off to the right, but easy to find and easy to find parking spaces...Recommend: ignore ducks and other wandering "walking" birds...just part of the scenery and an indication there are no nearby alligators... |

Tuesday, August 16 at noon: PB Bonus Lunch at Cafe Boulud, 301 Australian Ave, Palm Beach. The summer special lunch price in Palm Beach - $20.16 - makes Cafe Boulud a bargain (well, at least it makes it affordable). The food is great and the setting in the recently redecorated Brazilian Court Hotel is faaabulous. If the special deals continue into September, we may pop back to take advantage again. There's always valet parking if you can't find a spot on the street. (RSVP Amy, aesdth@yahoo.com or see Meetup.) |

Wednesday, August 17 at 6:30pm: Magnificent Mensa Scribes meets at the clubhouse where Prudy Taylor Board lives in Rainberry Bay, Delray Beach. For directions, interested members should call Prudy at 561-702-6138 or email her at prudytaylorboard@att.net. Thursday, August 25 at 5:45pm: PB Bonus Dinner at Chez L'Epicier, 288 South County Road, Palm Beach. A relatively new addition to the PB dining scene, at the corner of S. County Rd and Royal Palm Way. This is a double summer special: Thursday is Moules et Frites night (all-you-can-eat mussels with french fries) AND early dinner entrees are half price between 5:00 and 6:00 (order by 5:55!). In addition, there's a $30 prix-fixe menu for $30. And the restaurant is pretty too, decorated in French country style. (See Meetup.) |

Sunday, August 28 at 5pm: Gather at Bonefish Mac's, 662 SE Becker Rd., Port St. Lucie. This one has interesting Happy Hour plates for $11 that include soup or salad and a side dish! I was shocked that a tasty lobster bisque was one of the soups included. http://www.bonefishmacs.com/port-st-lucie-menus/psl-10-95-menu/ It is right next to turnpike exit and close to the I 95 Becker Rd Exit 114. For those around Port St Lucie Blvd, going west on PSL Blvd, make a left on Floresta, take Southbend Blvd at the traffic circle, go 4 miles on Southbend Blvd and make a left on Becker Rd. Bonefish Mac is on your right. There's hardly any traffic on that route. Come one come all! RSVP on this site by 8/27. I'm really going to this one. (See Meetup.) |

Tuesday, August 30 at noon: Bonus WPB Lunch at First Watch, 1703 Palm Beach Lakes Blvd. #B05, West Palm Beach. Casual restaurant chain specializing in breakfast, brunch, and lunch through 2:30. Eggs in the full range of styles, healthy salads and sandwiches (but ham and roast beef as well), biscuits, muffins, juices. First Watch is on the southeast end of the Palm Beach Outlets Mall near the Chase bank in a little group of stores with their own parking area around them; the most visible store is a place for eyeglasses. (RSVP Amy, aesdth@yahoo.com or see Meetup.) |
