Friday, July 1 at 7pm: First Friday Dinner at Payathai Asian Bistro, 5879 South Congress Ave., Atlantis (Lantana, NW corner of Lantana Rd. and Congress Ave.). Obviously, this is a Thai restaurant. If you choose, the food can be spicy.  Service is good and prices are reasonable. Wednesday, July 6 at 6:30pm: Magnificent Mensa Scribes meets at the clubhouse where Prudy Taylor Board lives in Rainberry Bay, Delray Beach. For directions, interested members should call Prudy at 561-702-6138 or email her at prudytaylorboard@att.net. Bring your writing so everyone can critique it... don't worry, you get to critique everybody else's writing too. Afterwards, if anyone wants to, we can get something to eat. (See Meetup.)

Tuesday, July 12 at noon: Lunch Bunch at Newport Cafe, 2677 Forest Hill Blvd, West Palm Beach. This homey, old-school eatery has been in business for about 20 years. They serve breakfast all day long - pancakes with blueberries, corned beef hash, scrambled eggs with tomatoes, etc.  At lunch, fresh salads, home-made soup, triple-decker club sandwich, charbroiled burger or veggie burger, and daily specials.  (RSVP Amy, aesdth@yahoo.com or see Meetup.)

Friday, July 15 at 6pm: Movable Feast at Prosecco Cafe, 4350 PGA Blvd, Palm Beach Gardens. A European bistro with bakery, serving small-plate tapas, healthy salads, omelets, Angus beef roasted in-house, pistachio-crusted grouper with mango salsa, and plenty of Chef's Specials. However, they warn you to leave room for something sweet from the bakery. Locations can be difficult to pinpoint in this area - it's west of I-95 and Military on the south side of PGA Blvd; turn in to the shopping and restaurant plaza from Shady Lakes. Tuesday, July 19 at noon: PB Bonus Lunch at Ta-Boo, 221 Worth Avenue, Palm Beach. Summer specials in Palm Beach!  Ta-Boo joins the party with its entry in the $20.16 for lunch deal - three courses in a classy setting. Parking can be hard to find, but this is summer after all, so free parking on the street may be available. If not, there are meters on Peruvian, the next street to the north. Sunday, July 24 at 4-6pm: Let's Welcome our Newcomers at Mike Yamrick's home, 9860-B Cassia Tree Way, Boynton Beach. This is the first Newcomers Gathering. It is co-hosted by Membership Chair Brian Johnson and coordinator Amy Shaughnessy. The point, of course, is to welcome our new members and others who haven't yet attended Mensa events, but we also need some already-active members to do the welcoming. Thursday, July 28 at 5:45pm: Bonus Dinner at Table 26, 1700 S Dixie Hwy, West Palm Beach. Usually pricey, but summer special offers 50% off entrees between 5:00 and 6:00. (Don't be late!)  They characterize their cuisine as "globally influenced comfort food". (See Meetup.)
