Wednesday, June 1 at 6:30pm: Magnificent Mensa Scribes continue in their new location (after canceling last month's first meeting), the Clubhouse of High Point of Delray West Sec. 1, 5230 Lakefront Blvd., Delray Beach (where Elissa lives).Call Prudy for details, 561-702-6138. Friday, June 3 at 7pm: First Friday Dinner at Payathai Asian Bistro, 5879 South Congress Ave., Atlantis (Lantana, NW corner of Lantana Rd. and Congress Ave.). Obviously, this is a Thai restaurant. If you choose, the food can be spicy.  Service is good and prices are reasonable. The place has limited space, so it's important that you RSVP to Barry at 561-964-4360, barrykaras7314@comcast.net,  or through the Meetup.

Thursday, June 9 at noon: Lunch Bunch at Leopard Lounge in the Chesterfield Hotel, 363 Cocoanut Row, Palm Beach. I usually go here for their great Happy hour, but they're also known for lunch "served with exquisite style . . . setting is sedate and sophisticated."  Of course, parking can be scarce in Palm Beach, but valet parking is available if you don't want to drive around the block(s).  (RSVP Amy, aesdth@yahoo.com or see Meetup.)

Thursday, June 23 at 6pm: Movable Feast at Jordan's Steak Bistro, 10140 Forest Hill Boulevard #170, Wellington. Here's one for those in the western suburbs; it's had good write-ups in the Post. The standard menu is a bit on the expensive side, but they have nightly specials. The Thursday Special is a Lobster Bowl, with jasmine rice and spinach, for $20 - and a glass of wine as a bonus. Sunday, June 26 at 5pm: Eat Barbecue at CW's BBQ,11150 Southeast Federal Highway, Hobe Sound. About 0.6 miles north of the famous Bridge Road to Jupiter Island is a hole in the wall with fantastic barbecue. In fact everything I've had there has been delicious. It is visible from US 1 (Federal Highway) and accessible from a service road running conspicuously parallel with US 1. (See Meetup.)
