Palm Beach County Mensa Meetup Group

Mensa events are open to all Mensans, their spouses, children and guests. Who may or may not attend a private home is at the host's discretion. Hosts: Please mention any special concerns about your location, such as smoking restrictions, limited access for the handicapped, or presence of pets. Guests: If you have any special needs or restrictions, please check with your host before attending an event.

	Friday, May 1 at 7pm First Friday Dinner at Orchids of Siam Thai-Sushi Bar 3027 Forest Hill Boulevard West Palm Beach. In the Winn-Dixie Shopping Center at the NW corner of Forest Hill & Congress. http://www.orchidsofsiamfl.com/ This restaurant offers excellent Thai/Japanese food. Thai food can be spicy. 	Sunday, May 3 at 5:30pm First Sunday Dinner–Located in the Shoppes of Atlantis, there's the Atlantis Grill and Bar, 5805 S. Congress Ave. (561-641-3330; http://www.atlantisgrillandbar.com/ ). In 2013, Palm Beach Post reviewers had this to say, "Cozy, welcoming, a neighborhood kind of place. The separate bar has a lively, friendly ‘Cheers' vibe. The dining room's brick walls, soft lighting and floor-to-ceiling windows make for a delightful dining experience. We ended our repast with a tower of scrumptiousness: the hot brownie sundae ($6.50). I've eaten a lot of brownie sundaes in my time, and this one definitely climbs to the top of the list. Four, warm, moist, fudgy brownies, topped with mounds of luscious whipped cream surround a hefty scoop of vanilla ice cream." Need I say more?? 	Tuesday, May 5 at noon: Lunch Bunch--Agora Mediterranean Kitchen, 2505 N Dixie Hwy W Palm Beach. Turkish menu with Greek and Italian; parking on street around corner. (On Meetup)
	Saturday, May 9 at 11am: ExCom meeting -- Ihop, 1503 Belvedere Road (just west of I-95), WPB. Please RSVP to Molly at Mollyban@AOL.com.
Sunday, May 10 at 5pm	Food SIG hosted by Mike Yamrick--The theme for May is Picnic. Mike is hoping the weather will be nice so that we can congregate outside for this event. He will be grilling Bratwurst which will be kept warm in a vat of onions and beer. He will also make potato salad. Please let Mike know what you will be bringing. The choices are many. It may be a good idea to bring a chair as the number of outdoor chairs is limited. If you have any questions, let me know by sending an mail to fusingmike@gmail.com or calling 360.601.4672.

The Magnificent Mensa Scribes meet the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays each month at 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. at Ihop, 1503 Belvedere Road, West Palm Beach. Prudy Taylor Board trenchantly discusses some practical phase of the writing business plus works-in-progress -- your works-in-progress will be read aloud and critiqued. 	Monday, May 18 at 6pm: Movable Feast--264 The Grille, 264 South Country Rd., Palm Beach. Moderate prices including specials. Valet parking, but on-street parking might be available too. (On Meetup)
	Sunday, May 24 at 5pm: North County Dinner at District Table & Bar, 900 SE Indian St. (Indian & Willoughby), Stuart,. Look for the cool people; we'll be sitting next to them.
