Friday, September 10, 7:00 pm. First Friday Dinner at The King & I Thai Restaurant, 6659 Lake Worth Road, Lake Worth, 561-964-9994. The Thai food is great. The people are even better. It is a great opportunity for new members to plug in. The restaurant is a great venue. We'd like to have you join us! We discuss politics, travel, the theater, investment philosophies and the comparative merits of boxers versus briefs, all the while enjoying some tasty food.

Wednesday, Sept. 15, 5:30pm Night Out for Mensa Cougars and Others. Not only does the 5:00-7:00 happy at this restaurant by Carmines give 50% off appetizers and entrees, but Wednesday is Motown night from 7:00-10:00. So, we can drink and eat and then work it all off, dancing the night away (ooh--showing our age if 10:00 pm is a late night!). RSVP on the Meetup website.

Sunday, Sept. 19, 4:30pm North County Dinner -- We will try to sneak into TooJays this month before they get busy.    They don't take reservations and tend to fill up starting around 5 PM.  So let's meet at 4:30.  If you haven't been there, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.  Prices are reasonable for very tasty food.  Beer and wine are served.  Phone number for the restaurant is 772 287 6514.  Address is 2504 SE Federal Highway, Stuart, FL 34957.  From I 95, take Exit 101 toward Stuart.  You'll be on Rt 76/Kanner Hwy.  Go 5.3 miles.  Turn right on Rt 714/Monterey Rd. Go 1 mile and turn right on US 1 South.  From US 1, it is less than 1/2 mile south of Monterey Rd.and north of Indian St. TooJays is in the Regency Square Shopping Center.  Bring extra money for shopping. RSVP on the Meetup website or to bulaws7@aol.com or call 772 337 4080.

Friday, Sept. 24, 7:00pm Moveable Feast at Mambo Italiano, 308 Clematis St, WPB 561-359-1414. Until 7:30, Happy Hour prices are still in effect ($3 drinks and food specials), but their regular prices are fine too for huge portions of all the usual Italian favorites. And the owner's father will probably stop by to make sure you're enjoying your meal and to make small talk about New York, Florida, his son, etc. RSVP on the Meetup website.

Saturday, September 11, 12:00pm. Mensa Outdoor - We've checked the tides at John D. MacArthur State park and there will be high tide at about that time. We may also see wildlife not visible from the park's regular viewing areas: manatees, dolphins, rays and various birds. The cost for the guided tour is $20/pp, including kayak; to rent a single kayak is $10/hour, and a tandem is $15/hour. Contact Jordan London, 954-961-8286 jordanlondon1@bellsouth.net.
