Palm Beach County Mensa Executive Board Members and Contacts

Most recently updated Thursday, October 28, 2009

ATTENTION !

NOTES:

  • Some of our officers and contacts now have logical e-mail aliases in our palmbeach.us.mensa.org domain, which forward to their actual e-mail addresses. These addresses should be more stable, as they will stay with the office or function regardless of change of personnel or ISP.

  • This public contact page has now been changed to include only the subset of the group officers and contacts which the general public might need to deal with. A version of this page with a complete contact list is in the Members Only section (login required; use same login as the national Mensa site, which members should have received from National).

Rich Haney, Local Secretary.

I joined Mensa in 1997, as a member of Broward Mensa. My wife, Karen (also a Mensan) and I moved to Palm Beach County in 1999, and have been members of Palm Beach County Mensa since.

In real life, I'm a computer systems administrator by day. When I'm not doing that (which is as often as I can muster), I spend time with my family (Karen and our daughter, Maggie - another Mensan). I like reading (mostly fantasy, sci-fi and historical fiction), cooking, animals of all types, and have recently decided to try my hand at gardening. I enjoy the natural world, and am interested in environmental causes. I'm also a licensed ham radio operator.

We have 3 cats, the world's 2nd goofiest dog, a bearded dragon and a redfoot tortoise.

Amy Shook - Gifted Child Chairperson.

I am a new member to Mensa. I joined this year (2008), mostly to keep up with my three daughters (also Mensans). I became the Gifted Children Coordinator because I believe our gifted kids need additional activities where they can have fun and be smart and be kids with other kids who share their interests and intellect. I teach third grade in St. Lucie County and I enjoy working with kids. I am working on what I hope will be some wonderful activities geared towards our children's interests. Please feel free to contact me with any ideas regarding your own child's interests!
