Sunday, September 13, 5:30pm: Second Sunday Dinner at Ford's Garage, 365 N. Congress Ave., Boynton Beach, 561-390-3673 (https://fordsgarageusa.com/locations/boynton-beach-fl/ ) "Founded in 2012, the original Ford's Garage opened in Fort Myers, Florida, less than a mile from Henry Ford's winter home! Ford's Garage is your go-to neighborhood burger and brew joint. We serve up mouthwatering All-American favorites with a vintage vibe on the side. From our famous Black Angus burgers and craft beers, to our one-of-a-kind 1920's service station-inspired dining room featuring classic Ford vehicles and memorabilia--here, great food and good times just keep on rolling." Hey, sounds good to me -- meet you there? RSVP to Elissa (elissa12@bellsouth.net) or on Meetup by Saturday, September 12 at noon. |

Thursday, September 17, 6 pm: The (M)any Books Book Club meets for another far-reaching, multidimensional conversation about...books! Current suggestions: "Supercommunicators" by Charles Duhigg. The subtitle is "How to unlock the Secret Language of Connection." Useful hints for overcoming both cultural and personal communication roadblocks. Another suggestion. A fiction suggestion, which is a page-turner, "Not Quite Dead Yet" by Holly Jackson. The main character, Jet, a 20-something, unconventional woman is attacked from behind on Halloween night, suffering a catastrophic head injury. Doctors are certain that within a week, the injury will trigger a fatal aneurysm. To her parents' dismay, Jet rejects an extremely risky operation in order to track down her attacker, using whatever methods she and her best friend, Billy, can dream up. Please join us for another fun meeting, whether you read the recommendations or not. Read/discuss/recommend your faves, any genre, books, even p*rn. We'll listen. Here's a challenge - Where do you draw the line - what won't you read? We'd like to know! Meeting ID: 929 988 4617. Passcode: happy (Zoom link). Please RSVP to Elissa Rudolph at elissa12@bellsouth.net or on Meetup. |

Sunday, September 20, 5pm: North County Gathering at District Table, 4665 SE Dixie Hwy, Stuart. The following is from the District Table website, a description of what to expect: "District Table & Bar in Port Salerno, Florida is a seasonally driven restaurant with Southern roots. The high energy environment welcomes guests who crave seriously good food in a laid-back atmosphere. Diners view an open, collaborative kitchen, where chefs freely interact with their guests. The menu flourishes with local ingredients based upon availability of the local farmers and fishermen. We take whatever is available today, or even that hour, and transform it into an evolving menu. And what we can't use immediately is preserved, pickled, smoked, and saved." [Meetup] |
