The special 3-course summer lunch for $20 features soup or salad, entrees like bistro steak or trout, and a dessert sampler. RSVP on MeetUp or to Amy by the evening before at 651-964-3283.
Saturday, Sept. 7 at 12-4pm: Busch Wildlife Sanctuary, 2500 Jupiter Park Drive, Jupiter. Come join us at Busch Wildlife Sanctuary - a non-profit organization dedicated to the protection and conservation of Florida's wildlife and natural resources. We'll be there starting at noon and plan to stay for the 2:30 pm Wildlife Encounter! Website: https://buschwildlife.org/visit-us RSVP: giftedyouth@palmbeach.us.mensa.org
Sunday, Sept. 8 at 5:30pm: Second Sunday Dinner at Tokyo Peking Cuisine, 8831 Hypoluxo Rd, Lake Worth. Tokyo Peking offers authentic Chinese and Asian cuisine, with high quality fresh ingredients; see menu on website for Shu, Mei Fun, Mongolian Beef, Kung Pao Shrimp, Buddha's Delight, and other typical Chinese fare. Tuesday, Sept. 11 at noon: Palm Beach Lunch at Leopard Lounge, 363 Cocoanut Row, Palm Beach. The Summer Special lunch is $20.19 for two courses with such choices as salads, Maryland-style crab cake, club sandwich, and the house hamburger, as well as varied desserts. Those who are new to the leopard-inspired decor may want to come back for the Chesterfield's famous Happy Hour. RSVP on MeetUp or to Amy by the night before at 561-964-3283.
Friday, Sept. 13 at 7pm: First Friday Dinner at Payathai Asian Bistro, 5879 South Congress Ave., Atlantis (Lantana, NW corner of Lantana Rd. and Congress Ave.). Since this is a Thai restaurant, if you choose, the food can be spicy. Limited space: RSVP to Barry at 561-425-5675, barrykaras7314@comcast.net, or through the Meetup.
Saturday, Sept. 14 at 11am: ExCom meeting at the Clubhouse at Colony Preserve,12070 Colony Preserve Dr, Boynton Beach. Please contact Beth Rappaport at beth773@hotmail.com if you plan on attending.
Tuesday, Sept. 17 at 5:30pm: Movable Feast at Brick & Barrel Pub, 748 Park Avenue, Lake Park. My mistake - I scheduled this for Monday, but Brick & Barrel is closed on Mondays! So it will be Tuesday 9/17 instead. Another Flavor Palm Beach offering - $30 for three courses. Appetizers include Scotch egg, shrimp cake, and soup; entrees such as pork osso buco, weinerschnitzel, and fish with risotto; and brownie a la mode for dessert. RSVP on MeetUp or to Amy by the night before at 561-964-3283.
Friday, Sept. 20 at noon: Lunch Special at The Capital Grille, Glades Rd, Boca Raton. Another 3-course summer special through Flavor Palm Beach in a sleek steakhouse off Glades Road. First courses include salads or clam chowder, then roast chicken, salmon, or their signature cheeseburger with truffle fries, and finally cheesecake or chocolate espresso cake. RSVP on MeetUp or to Amy by 8:00 the night before at 561-964-3283.
Saturday, Sept. 21 at 9:30am: Software Freedom Day at Hagen Ranch Library, 14350 Hagen Ranch Rd, Delray Beach. PBSFG is hosting an event for international Software Freedom Day on Saturday, September 21, 2019. Software Freedom Day provides a good opportunity to network with other software users and/or programmers and discuss your favorite software. Bring computers and mobile devices. http://wiki.softwarefreedomday.org/2019/USA/FL/Delray%20Beach/PBSFD (See Meetup).
Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 5:25pm: Happy Hour at Brule Bistro, 200 NE 2nd Ave * Delray Beach. Happy Hour is 3:00 to 6:30, but they call the bar "intimate" so it may get crowded after 5:00; there are also long high-top tables if we can snag one. The menu is generally classic American, with "delicious bar bites" along with the cocktails, wines and craft beers. RSVP on MeetUp or to Amy by noon on Sept. 25 at 561-964-3283.
Dates to be determined: Magnificent Mensa Scribes meets (varying dates, usually Tuesdays at 6:30 pm) at Rainberry Bay Clubhouse, Lake Ida Road, Delray Beach. Are you a writer or aspire to be one? Join Linda Rubinstein (the new host, taking over for Prudy Taylor Board) and our Mensan Scribes to hone your skills and to learn about getting published. For info, contact Linda at Lsrubin18@msn.com.
