Monday, Dec. 3 at 5:30pm: Happy Hour at Miracle at CityPlace, 550 S. Rosemary Avenue No. 158, West Palm Beach, the latest pop-up holiday kiosk bar with kitchy Christmas décor by the central fountain and stage. Parking was impossible after Thanksgiving, but there is valet parking and municipal garages. It's only there until New Year's, but I'm hoping it will be worth a try. RSVP on Meetup or to Amy Shaughnessy at 561-964-3283 or rpwassn@yahoo.com. |

Tuesday, Dec. 4 at 6:30pm: Magnificent Mensa Scribes meets at Rainberry Bay Clubhouse, Lake Ida Road, Delray Beach. Enjoy the literary vibes of the Magnificent Mensa Scribes. For info, contact prudytaylorboard@gmail.com. (See Meetup.) |

Friday, Dec. 7 at 7pm: First Friday Dinner at Payathai Asian Bistro, 5879 South Congress Ave., Atlantis (Lantana, NW corner of Lantana Rd. and Congress Ave.). Since this is a Thai restaurant, if you choose, the food can be spicy. Limited space: RSVP to Barry at 561-425-5675, barrykaras7314@comcast.net, or through the Meetup. |
Sunday, Dec. 9 at 5:30pm: Second Sunday Dinner at Park Tavern, 32 2nd Ave., Delray Beach, 561-265-5093 (parktaverndelray.com). A neighborhood restaurant; fresh ingredients, from-scratch kitchen, craft beers, seasonal cocktails, small production wines. (No separate checks; prepare to have cash, not cards, to pay your bill.) Have an early dinner then explore Atlantic Ave. dressed up for the holidays. RSVP by Sat. noon to elissa12@bellsouth.net or on Meetup. |

Thursday, Dec. 13 at 5:30pm: Moveable Feast at La Fontana Ristorante, 11360 US Highway 1, North Palm Beach. A new location after moving from Crystal Tree Plaza. The menu is an interesting mix of Mediterranean influences, from Italian to Balkan cuisines, including Bosnian breads and sausages. We may be able to take up their offered bottle of wine for $10 with 2 dinners. Do NOT believe the maps and directions that indicate the old address - it's a bit north, near the Best Western Hotel. RSVP on Meetup or to Amy Shaughnessy at 561-964-3283 or rpwassn@yahoo.com. |

Saturday, Dec. 15 at 10am: King Mango Strut Eating and Planning Meeting... The 2018 Mensa Strutting Team and Eating Club will assemble at Ed and Alice Wujciak's home in Hollywood, 5206 Roosevelt St, 33021, to refine our "Theme" and eat more bagels. For directions, to RSVP, or just vent, contact Ed Wujciak at ewujciak@gmail.com or at 954-963-7661. Come for the companionship, come for the jokes, come for the bagels, but just come! |

Saturday, Dec. 15 at 7pm: Annual Holiday Party at the home of John and Kay Klasen. Since Palm Beach Area's Winter Solstice is cancelled, why not attend Broward Mensa's party? Same date/time. Desserts are served so expect a lot of chocolate. Bring a wrapped gift if you want to participate in the gift exchange (which is no doubt different from our Gimme Grabbag). To RSVP email Kay@bellsouth.net or call 954-227-8188. I'm going! -- Elissa |

Monday, Dec. 17 at 5:30pm: Happy Hour at Morton's Steakhouse, 777 South Flagler Drive, West Palm Beach. "Power Hour" with reduced-price drinks and great bar bites, including mini filet mignon sandwiches. The building is 777 S. Flagler, but Morton's entrance is at the corner of Chase Avenue and Lakeview. Whoever gets there first should stake out a table - or we could do a table outside, weather permitting. There's a parking garage on Chase, as well as valet parking. RSVP on Meetup or to Amy Shaughnessy at 561-964-3283 or rpwassn@yahoo.com. |

Sunday, Dec. 30 at 2pm: King Mango Strut in Coconut Grove: Today is the day... King Mango, and other assorted eccentrics, will Strut in Miami's Coconut Grove for the 37th consecutive year... The Weirdest Parade in the Universe. There will be humor, satire, outlandish props, tastelessness, funny costumes, and fellow Mensans acting very very silly!
