Friday, Feb. 3 at 7pm: First Friday Dinner at Payathai Asian Bistro, 5879 South Congress Ave., Atlantis (Lantana, NW corner of Lantana Rd. and Congress Ave.). Obviously, this is a Thai restaurant. If you choose, the food can be spicy. Service is good and prices are reasonable. The place has limited space, so it's important that you RSVP to Barry at 561-964-4360, barrykaras7314@comcast.net, or through the Meetup. |

Sunday, Feb. 5 at 5:30pm: Meet for the Palm Beach Area Mensa First Sunday dinner at Atlantis Grill & Bar, 5805 S Congress Ave, Shoppes of Atlantis, Lake Worth. http://www.atlantisgrillandbar.com/ This spot will be our First Sunday spot until someone decides it's become monotonous. Last month we had 9 eager diners. Join us to decide when the First Sunday dining spot moves to another delicious spot in Palm Beach County. (See Meetup.) |

Friday, Feb. 10 at noon: Lunch Bunch at Table 26., 1700 S Dixie Hwy, West Palm Beach . Lunch service was recently begun at this stylish restaurant just south of downtown West Palm. It's a bit pricier than my usual picks, but there's a fine selection in the $12-15 range, including a couple of salads at $13 or so, a cranberry tuna salad sandwich ($12), and a well-stuffed Reuben for $15. The website also shows a very photogenic avocado toast "starter" at $12 - looks big enough to me for a whole lunch. Street parking may serve well for daytime; not sure whether they have valet parking, as at night. (See Meetup.) |

Saturday, Feb. 11 at 11am: ExComm Meeting at Mike Yamrick's home, 9860-B Cassia Tree Way, Boynton Beach. Next meetings May 20, Aug. 12, and Nov. 11. |

Monday, Feb. 20 at 5:30pm: Movable Feast at Ellie's 50's Diner, 2410 North Federal Highway, Delray Beach. I've meant to try this place for a long time - the time has come. They bill themselves as a 1950s-style family diner, with "every detail of the diners we knew growing up . . . taking you back to those happy days"! In fact, their "Happy Days Menu" features '50s song titles attached to the comfort-food entrees; they even have a dessert they call the Elvis Wedding Cake. It's on Federal Hwy between Woolbright and Atlantic, in the midst of all those car dealerships. (See Meetup.) |

Saturday, Feb. 25 at 5:30pm: New Members Welcome Dinner at Taste Hobe Sound, 11750 SE Dixie Hwy, Hobe Sound. New members and new-to-Palm-Beach-Area-Mensa move-ins are invited to join with current members of our chapter at a welcoming dinner in the northern counties. Taste Hobe Sound is an informal restaurant with a fairly broad menu and a Sunset Menu that has a number of attractive choices (fish & chips, chicken française, grilled pork chop, mahi mahi, liver & onions). We hope that the location will be a draw for our northern-counties members and that the menu will draw a good showing from the Palm Beach County members! (See Meetup.) |
