Palm Beach County Mensa Meetup Group

Mensa events are open to all Mensans, their spouses, children and guests. Who may or may not attend a private home is at the host's discretion. Hosts: Please mention any special concerns about your location, such as smoking restrictions, limited access for the handicapped, or presence of pets. Guests: If you have any special needs or restrictions, please check with your host before attending an event.

	Saturday, August 1 at 11am: ExCom Meeting at IHOP, 503 Belvedere Rd., W. Palm Beach. Please RSVP. (Molly, Mollyban@aol.com)
	Sunday, August 2 at 5:30pm: First Sunday Dinner--The Sea Asian Bistro--16950 Jog Road, Delray Beach (561-270-3569; www.theseaasianbistro.com). This sounds delectable: Tom Yum Young CoconutSoup, Spicy lemongrass soup, shrimps, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, scallions, young coconut. Also on the menu: Asian market noodle dishes, Asian wok creations, Blue River Shrimp, Boca Shore Fish (Chilean seabass), steaks, red dragon, green dragon, super spider, sex on the moon, slim lady, and lobster monster sushi rolls -- the menu is a huge one. See website. RSVP by noon August 1 to elissa12@bellsouth.net OR through the Palm Beach Mensa's Meetup site. Once reservations are made, seats go to those who RSVP'ed FIRST.
	Tuesday, August 4 at noon: Lunch Bunch--Snappers Seafood & Pasta, 398 N. Congress Ave #390, Boynton Beach. In Oakwood Square, a standby for fresh local fish and cedar plank Alaskan halibut, cod, clams casino, and yellowfin tuna tartare. There's also pasta, steak and BBQ back ribs for those who prefer. 	Friday, August 7 at 7pm First Friday Dinner at Orchids of Siam Thai-Sushi Bar 3027 Forest Hill Boulevard West Palm Beach. In the Winn-Dixie Shopping Center at the NW corner of Forest Hill & Congress. http://www.orchidsofsiamfl.com/ This restaurant offers excellent Thai/Japanese food. Thai food can be spicy. There is a separate room for us if we have the numbers.. RSVP to Barry at 561-964-4360 or Meetup.
	Tuesday, August 11 at 6pm: Magnificent Mensa Scribes at Ihop, 1503 Belvedere Rd., W Palm Beach. Prudy Taylor Board trenchantly discusses some practical phase of the writing business plus works-in-progress – your works-in-progress will be read aloud and critiqued. 	Friday, August 14 at 6pm: Movable Feast--Rocky's Italian Bistro. 20 SE 5 Av., Delray Beach. Close to, but not on, Delray's popular Atlantic Avenue, Rocky's Bistro is a traditional New York Italian-style restaurant: baked ziti, gnocchi bolognese, chicken cacciatore, and on to tiramisu and cannoli. Arrive early if you want to take advantage of their Happy Hour at the bar. Or just arrive early to find a parking place. (See Meetup)
	Sunday, August 16 at 5pm: North County Dinner--Construct an Adult-Sized Asian Meal at PEI WEI, 2101 SE Federal Highway, Stuart. (Fresh & tasty pad thai, and other entrees. Small portions are also available!) See Meetup.
	Tuesday, August 18 at noon: PB Specials--Trevini Ristorante, 290 Sunset Ave., Palm Beach. Trevini used to be on Worth Avenue, but they moved to the Bradley Park Hotel a few years ago. It's definitely upscale, but they have a $20 three-course lunch special - well worth while. It's summer, so parking should be easy - corner of Bradley Place and Sunset Avenue, just a block north of Royal Poinciana Way, and across from the PB Publix. (See Meetup).
	Tuesday, August 25 at 6pm: Magnificent Mensa Scribes. IHOP on north side of Belvedere just west of I-95. The Magnificent Mensa Scribes meet the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays each month at 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. at Ihop, 1503 Belvedere Road, West Palm Beach. 	Thursday, August 27 at 6pm: Movable Feast--City Cellar Wine Bar & Grill, 700 S. Rosemary Ave., WPB. Deep in the heart of City Place, on the mezzanine level overlooking the fountain and plaza. There's picturesque outside seating, but in summer the cool, darkish inside is much to be preferred. Some of the menu is rather pricey, but they also have "small plates" and entree salads - including a quinoa salad! Ample parking in the garage. (See Meetup)
