Palm Beach County Mensa Meetup Group

Mensa events are open to all Mensans, their spouses, children and guests. Who may or may not attend a private home is at the host's discretion. Hosts: Please mention any special concerns about your location, such as smoking restrictions, limited access for the handicapped, or presence of pets. Guests: If you have any special needs or restrictions, please check with your host before attending an event.

	Friday, August 1 at 7pm First Friday at Orchids of Siam Thai-Sushi Bar 3027 Forest Hill Boulevard West Palm Beach. In the Winn-Dixie Shopping Center at the NW corner of Forest Hill & Congress. http://www.orchidsofsiamfl.com/ This restaurant offers excellent Thai/Japanese food. Thai food can be spicy. 	Sunday, August 3 at 5:30pm Palm Beach Area Mensa Monthly Dinner at The Banana Boat, which has been a landmark "anchor" to the restaurant and nightlife activities in Boynton Beach, Florida, since 1978; 739 East Ocean Ave.(561-732-9400; http://www.bananaboatboynton.com/). We'll be sitting outside to enjoy the water way and catch the breezes (we hope!). Cuisine is typical American fare -- fresh salads, fish & chicken dishes, Key Lime pie, etc. RSVP by noon August 2 to elissa12@bellsouth.net OR through MeetUp.
	Monday, August 4 at 6pm: Trivia Night at Ambrosia's -- Ambrosia, 1603 S. Dixie Highway, West Palm Beach 33401 (561-833-8280). The Mensans vs the not-Mensans in trivial and not-so-trivial matters. RSVP to Molly at 561-357-8707 or Meetup.
	Saturday, August 9 at 2pm-4pm: Play Chess, at Hagan Ranch Road Library -- 14350 Hagen Ranch Road, Delray Beach. Recreational chess on the second Saturday ofevery month in library conference room. Chess sets will be provided. If there's another game you'd prefer to play, please ask Jason if it is OK to bring. Refreshments included. Jason Gellert, jasongellert1@aol.com.
	Tuesday, August 12 at 6pm: Magnificent Mensa Scribes. IHOP on north side of Belvedere just west of I-95. The Magnificent Mensa Scribes meet the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays each month at 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. at Ihop, 1503 Belvedere Road, West Palm Beach. Prudy Taylor Board trenchantly discusses some practical phase of the writing business plus works-in-progress -- your works-in-progress will be read aloud and critiqued. 	Saturday, August 16 at 9am: Zip Line in Orlando -- Join Mensans from around the area in an adventure outing. See details on Meetup or contact melissalstephens@aol.com
