Friday, August 18, 7:30PM, Mensadventure at Out of Denmark, 1715 S. Federal Hwy., Delray Beach, 561-276-4950. The Sun-Sentinel's fine dining critic gave this out-of-the-way restaurant four stars for its family style, Northern European fare. Located on the NE corner of Linton Blvd. and S. Federal Hwy. Out of Denmark is a bit hard to find, tucked away as it is behind Sushi Jazz. But keep looking. Its' romantic atmosphere it worth the search. Entrees include appetizers, soup or salad, vegetables, potatoes or rice. Samples of entrees: Frikadeller (veal patties), Chicken Raspberry, Steak Au Poivre, Wienerschnitzel, Almond Crusted Salmon, Danish Lobster Tails, Norwegian Salmon, and more. Prices range from $17 (the chicken) to $29 (lobster tails). Desserts are homemade; the critic raved about the Danish layer cake and blueberry cobbler. I have a copy of the review; I'll fax it to whoever wants to see it. As usual, our Mensadventures are cash only deals where we add 25% to the dinner price to cover tax and tip. Call Elissa at 561-272-0475 by Thursday, August 17th to make reservations-RSVPs are a must!! Bring a hearty appetite! |

Saturday, August 26th, 7 PM - Executive Board Meeting. This is our first meeting since December, 1999, and we have a "full plate" of items to discuss. This meeting is open to all members of Palm Beach County Mensa, but you must RSVP to Glen Moulder in order to attend since he is holding it at his home and he needs to know how many are coming. Please do not show up unannounced as this will impact seating and refreshments. E-mail doojinsi@att.net or call 561.616.7372 to RSVP. The address is 505 Spencer Drive, unit 204. This is a gated building and you'll have to dial us for access. Contact Glen for specific instructions and for an advance copy of the agenda. Light refreshments, not a meal, will be served. We look forward to your input. |
