- Many
of your e-mail addresses are out-of-date according to bounce messages
that I got shortly after sending a message to you. Or you may be new to
computing and the Internet. For whatever reason, I would like to update
the PBC Mensa e-mail address list. Please note that our e-mail list
is completely separate from that of National and we only use your
addresses for PBC Mensa business. The people at National know absolutely nothing about an e-mail address or change unless you give me permission to notify them.
- Please send your e-mail address information to me (bkaras@mindspring.com) and entitle it "E-mail address." Thank you.

Barry 561-964-4360 or Elissa 561-496-0124 if you want to be part of the
in-crowd.
Extra spaces this month are due to "interim" editor's love of wide
open spaces. But if YOU are editor, you can fill the spaces with your
ideas!

Here is the Club Med SIG update for the April newsletter (calendar):(the last one!)
7:20 P.M. Saturday, April 20
Meet the
Club Med SIG in Cancun by the Hostess Desk for dinner, or for the whole
week! If you haven't found a cheap flight yet, check the Internet for
last-minute specials. For a free newsletter with all the details,
e-mail Erica Byrne at EMByrne@attglobal.net . Single and/or unaccompanied vacationers are especially welcome.
Thank you, Erica Byrne, Club Med SIG Coordinator, M#1042370, American Mensa, San Francisco
Welcome to MENSA's Club Med SIG.
If you like to waterski, sail, windsurf, and socialize with fun and active Mensans, this is the SIG for you.
When are we going? Mark your calendar for April 20-27, 2002.
Where are we going? Cancun Club Med, on the Yucatan peninsula in eastern Mexico.
Who's
invited? American Mensa members, International members, friends of
members, and prospective members. The average age range at this Club is
25 to 45 and the minimum age is 18.
Why Club
Med? Club Med was originally designed for young, active singles. It is
still the best resort for people who want to take a vacation without
having to find someone else to bring along. Unaccompanied travelers are
matched with a same-sex, same-age roommate (if desired). At meals,
diners are seated in groups of eight, so you'll meet seven new people
at every meal. If you want to practice your Spanish or French, ask for
a Spanish or French table. Group sports lessons provide another great
way to meet new friends. Nobody is lonely at Club Med. Best of all, all
lessons, sports equipment, and meals are included in one (reasonable)
price.
How will I
know who the other Mensans are? If your intelligence is not
self-evident, wear your Mensa-logo clothing. We'll gather ten minutes
before dinner at 7:20 P.M. near the Hostess desk so that we can be
seated together. We'll also have a Mensa palapa on the wind-surfing
beach during the day.
What is the
cost? After March 4, the cost is $138 per night, although there will
probably be some last-minute Internet specials that include a good deal
on last-minute flights. Check the Club Med web page at www.ClubMed.com under "Great Deals".
Flights
during the week tend to be less expensive than weekend flights, so if
you plan to arrive a day or two early, meet us on Friday night as usual.
What about SCUBA? SCUBA dive trips are offered at an additional charge by the Excursions Office.
I've never been to Mexico and I've never been to Club Med. Where can I get more information? Visit Club Med's web-site at www.clubmed.com
or call 1-800-Club-Med. You'll need a birth certificate or passport to
return to the U.S. Ask your doctor if you need any immunizations. Club
Med will send you a detailed packet of information when you make your
reservation. Please feel free to email me at EMByrne@attglobal.net with any additional questions.

To Ponder...
Major
difference between men and women: Women talk face to face, men talk
side to side, i.e., sitting at a bar, watching a football game on TV,
etc. Do you agree, not agree?? Is communication better, worse or about
the same when people converse side to side?? How important is body
language, facial expressions, which, if you are communicating side to
side, are not apparent. Email opinions to Elissa at elissa12@bellsouth.net. Results of informal poll next month. |
