Monthly Bulk Mail Distribution of the Newsletter

most recently updated TUE 24 JUN 2003

The newsletter mailing for Palm Beach County Mensa is broken down into five bulk mail categories, one category per box. There must be at least 150 pieces in a particular category in order to qualify for lower rates. You can not mix a mailing. If you are sending out a regular newsletter, and some of the pieces get a special insert (like a letter), you cannot mix the plain newsletters with the inserted ones. You must separate them into non-inserted and inserted mailings. Since the size of the newsletter is compact (one-page, folded), the one-foot boxes may be used for packaging the mailing. These five boxes are subdivided into the following mailing classifications, graphically illustrated in the table below.

2 boxes for bar-coded (or OCR) mail:

Box 1 - Bar-coded to zip codes beginning with 334 and 349.

Box 2 - Bar-coded to all zips except those beginning with 334/349.

3 boxes for non-bar-coded (or non-OCR) mail:

Box 3 - Non-bar-coded to zip codes beginning with 334.

Box 4 - Non-bar-coded to zip codes beginning with 349.

Box 5 - Non-bar-coded to all other zips.
