FIRST FRIDAY at Payathai restaurant in the shopping mall/center at the northwest corner of Lantana Rd. and Congress Ave. If you enter the shopping center from the Lantana Rd. entrance Payathai is about 10 stores down on the right. Sunday, March 16. Mensa Outdoor - Explore Captiva/Sanibel Islands by bicycle. We will car-a-van with our bicycles from S.R. 84/I-75 to Sanibel and then ride around the areas, including Ding Darling Wildlife Preserve, exploring. We'll have lunch at a local restaurant while there. Car pooling will be encouraged and facilitated. Nominal cost of $5.00 for Members and $6.00 for Non-members, lunch not included. Sunday, March 16, 12 noon. Sunday Brunch at Emerald Coast-Sunrise. For a holiday treat, a return visit to the Grand-daddy award winning Buffet that started it all is in order. Now they are featuring all your favorite Sunday Brunch specials in addition to the regular Asian buffet served every day with too many items to mention. Saturday, March 22, 7-9 pm. Delray Beach, Morningstar Clubhouse "Legacy of Florida's Highwaymen" with Elissa Rudolph. Presentation of how a group of African American painters from the Ft. Pierce area came to be called "Highwaymen" and why they and their accomplishments are important to us and our history. The presentation will be held in the Clubhouse of the Morningstar development off Atlantic Ave. and west of Military Trail (for exact directions contact Elissa, elissa12@bellsouth.net).

Saturday, March 22, 10 am. Fourth Saturday Fun - Young Mensan Activities - FAMILY EVENT -- Butterfly World, Tradewinds Park, Coconut Creek. Spring is in the air and this is a perfect time to walk through a lush tropical rain forest among thousands of butterflies. Then we can visit the Hummingbird Aviary and the Lorikeet Encounter when they eat right out of your hand. There is also the air conditioned museum with exhibits of bugs, spiders and butterflies. Tradewinds Park is at 3600 W. Sample Road, just west of the Florida Turnpike exit #69. Adult tickets $18.95 Children $13.95 (ages 3-11). We will meet by the ticket booth. Look for the Mensa Sign. Saturday, March 22. Mensa/OAK/MeetUp Monthly Party - (NOTE CHANGE OF TIME). If you've been there, you know the people. If you haven't, come and meet some very nice folks - some you'll know, and there are always new folks as well. It's Bring-A-Dish (side dish or main entree type), and a $4.00 contribution. Sunday, March 30, 5:00 pm. Northern Area dinner at Basil Garden II, 2655 S. W. Feroe Ave., Palm City (corner of Martin Downs Blvd.) (772) 220-1994. This restaurant has a 12oz strip steak, potatoes and salad for $14.95. They've been running coupons for their 8th anniversary for $8.00 off on every two dinners. Julius and I have been collecting coupons for the last few months and we have more than enough for every one. The menu is limited to steaks, pork chops and 1 or 2 fish items.
