Palm Beach County Mensa Calendar of Events
November, 2007

Mensa events are open to all Mensans, their spouses, children and guests. Who may or may not attend a private home is at the host's discretion. Hosts: Please mention any special concerns about your location, such as smoking restrictions, limited access for the handicapped, or presence of pets. Guests: If you have any special needs or restrictions, please check with your host before attending an event.

Notice! Our group has merged its calendar with the one from the Broward group and some events from Miami. The icon in the rightmost column of the event indicates what group(s) are hosting that activity (B for Broward, M for Miami, P for Palm Beach County). See the legends at the bottom of this page for an explanation of other icons that may appear in this column. Most phone numbers for Broward events will be area code 954, for Miami, 305.

	Thursday, November 1, 7:00 pm. 1ST THURSDAY PUB NIGHT EAST. Bennigan's on Cypress Creek Road (just west of I-95, north side). For further information call Jason Knight, 954-969-0683.
	Friday, November 2, 7:00 pm. FIRST FRIDAY at Payathai restaurant in the shopping mall/center at the northwest corner of Lantana Rd. and Congress Ave. If you enter the shopping center from the Lantana Rd. entrance Payathai is about 10 stores down on the right. The restaurant is to the left of a pool hall. REPLY TO: Barry Karas 561 964-4360 or bkaras@adelphia.net. While reservations are not technically necessary your RSVPs will enable the restaurant to arrange for special seating/tables, etc.
	Saturday, November 3, 2:30 pm. HAMBURGER SIG. We'll meat at Moonlite Diner on Cypress Creek Road at 2:30 PM, a retro diner. You have to try one of their incredibly good milk shakes. Call Ed Gordon at 954-540-1667 to RSVP so that he can reserve a table.

	Friday, November 9, 1:15 pm. BULLsig North: Sage Café, 1:15 pm, 2318 N Federal Highway, Ft. Lauderdale. Indoor or outdoor dining, good food, good service, pets and smokers welcome at outdoor tables. Call Jackie Proudfoot, 954-920-3602.
	Saturday, November 10, 7 pm. Mensa/OAK/MeetUp Monthly Party. If you've been there, you know the people. If you haven't, come and meet some very nice folks - some you'll know, and there's always new folks as well. It's Bring-A-Dish (side dish or main entree type), and a $4.00 cash contribution at the door. If you wish, bring the kids. Under 12, is no charge. 	Wednesday, November 14, 11:30 am. Second Wednesday. Meet for lunch at the food court in the Treasure Coast Mall in Jensen Beach. Anywhere between one and four genuine sailors usually show up. 	Sunday, November 18, 11:30 am. Sunday Brunch at Vila's North, 4000 North University Drive in Sunrise. Cuban or Mexican entree's with rice and beans for $5.95 to $6,50, your choice of 6! Friendly wait staff, comfortable chairs, good food, friends and did I mention the fantastic deserts (they are not included in the price). 	Thursday, November 22, 3:00 pm. OPEN HOUSE THANKSGIVING- Jordan and Ruby's traditional Open House on thanksgiving - we invite (Members and/or friends and their relatives, acquaintances, whomever) to attend our sit-down full traditional Thanksgiving dinner about 3:00-3:30 P.M. 	Saturday, November 24, 10 am. Fourth Saturday Fun. Young Mensan Activities - Laser Fun Zone, Coral Springs 9535 Westview Drive, at the Sawgrass and University Drive. Of course there's Laser Tag. But how about Bear Stuffing Arcades, Air Jousting or a Bounce House. There's a restaurant also. We will meet by the ticket booth. Look for the Mensa Sign. RSVP to Micki Hawn at 954-345-1688.
	Nov 30 - Dec 2. AMC MEETING, Holiday Inn West Palm Beach. You are welcome to join hospitality on Friday evening, 6pm on and during the AMC meeting on Saturday, 9am -- 5pm. Saturday evening catered dinner at Jupiter Island private home. All welcome!
