Palm Beach County Mensa Calendar of Events

Mensa events are open to all Mensans, their spouses, children and guests. Who may or may not attend a private home is at the host's discretion. Hosts: Please mention any special concerns about your location, such as smoking restrictions, limited access for the handicapped, or presence of pets. Guests: If you have any special needs or restrictions, please check with your host before attending an event.

Notice! Our group has merged its calendar with the one from the Broward group and some events from Miami. The icon in the rightmost column of the event indicates what group(s) are hosting that activity (B for Broward, M for Miami, P for Palm Beach County). See the legends at the bottom of this page for an explanation of other icons that may appear in this column. Most phone numbers for Broward events will be area code 954, for Miami, 305.

	Friday, September 3, 6:30 pm. First Friday with Miami Mensa at Tien Kue. 2860 Coral Way, just east of Coral Gables. Get there around 6:30 to 7pm and partake of friendship, camaraderie and flaming pu-pu (or, if you'd rather, poo-poo, depending upon the Chinese cuisine) platters, or some such. Because we tend to fill up the restaurant's parking lots, we have been asked to park in the lot immediately east of the restaurant. Note: There will be a speaker at First Friday.

	Saturday, September 4. BICYCLE JOHN PRINCE PARK near Lake Worth. This is a beautiful area, clean, and a pleasure. About 3 1/2 - 4 hours ride. BYO lunch, leave it in the car for after the bicycling. Jordan London, 954-961-8286. New Date!

	Tuesday, September 14, 5:30 p.m. ELECTRONIC TRIVIA NORTH meets, as always, at Rickey's, 4645 Hollywood Blvd. Exit I-95 at Hollywood Blvd. and go west to 48th Ave. Park in back. We meet at 5:30 p.m. since there are some good games early, but if you can't make it early, come when you can. Pretty good food, very good trivia. Smoking where permitted.

	Sunday, September 19, 11 am. SUNDAY BRUNCH La Piazza Pasta Cafe. It's a new location...a five star all you can eat buffet, featuring a Cold Station with salads, shrimp, eggs and more; a Hot Station with pastas, eggs benedict and quiches; a Carving Station with prime rib, salmon and chicken fingers; crepes and omelets, breads and desserts. The price of $14.95 includes orange juice, coffee, tea, mimosas or bloody mary. This is sure to become a favorite with a menu like this. This evening you are asked to bring your favorite games AS WELL AS any snack or soft drink that you prefer; coffee, tea and the fixings WILL be provided.
