Palm Beach County Mensa Calendar of Events

Mensa events are open to all Mensans, their spouses, children and guests. Who may or may not attend a private home is at the host's discretion. Hosts: Please mention any special concerns about your location, such as smoking restrictions, limited access for the handicapped, or presence of pets. Guests: If you have any special needs or restrictions, please check with your host before attending an event.

Notice! Our group has merged its calendar with the one from the Broward group and some events from Miami. The icon in the rightmost column of the event indicates what group(s) are hosting that activity (B for Broward, M for Miami, P for Palm Beach County). See the legends at the bottom of this page for an explanation of other icons that may appear in this column. Most phone numbers for Broward events will be area code 954, for Miami, 305.

	Friday, January 2. FIRST FRIDAY at 7:00 pm at Payathai, nw corner of Congress Ave and Lantana Road, Lantana. (When you enter the shopping center by the Lantana Rd. entrance, the restaurant is about 10 stores to the right.) RSVP Barry Karas 561 964-4360 or bkaras@mindspring.com.
	Saturday, January 3. OUTDOOR SIG - bicycle Shark Valley in the Everglades under the full moon. A really nice 15-mile trip, with a lot of moonshine. We'll bike about 7 miles down a paved trail to the 65- foot observation tower and have dinner, supplied as part of the trip. Then up the other side of the "U" about 8 miles to our starting point. 	Sunday, January 11: SUNDAY BRUNCH. It's time to do it again. Let's all meet and eat at King's Super Buffet (WEST), all you can eat, including crab legs, oysters, clams, steak, leg of lamb, crawfish, shrimp, mussels, stone crab and lots more for only $6.95 a person!! Can't beat that! Over 200 items for you to enjoy: Chinese, Japanese, Italian... the list goes on. 7101 West Oakland Park Blvd., east of University Drive, on the north side. 	Tuesday, January 13. ELECTRONIC TRIVIA NORTH meets, as always, at Rickey's, 4645 Hollywood Blvd. Exit I-95 at Hollywood Blvd. and go west to 48th Ave. Park in back. We meet at 5:30 p.m. since there are some good games early, but if you can't make it early, come when you can. Pretty good food, very good trivia. Smoking where permitted.

	Sunday, January 25. MYSTERY TRAIN RIDE ON THE SEMINOLE RAILROAD, out of Fort Myers. This is an absolutely funtastic time. The train loads at about 6:00 p.m.. You can come out to Fort Myers Saturday morning or afternoon, and after the ride stay over in Fort Myers and spend Sunday exploring. The cost is about $60.00 per person for the train ride and dinner.
