Palm Beach County Mensa Calendar of Events - March, 2002
Mensa events are open to all Mensans, their spouses, children and guests. Who may or may not attend a private home is at the host's discussion. Hosts: Please mention any special concerns about your location, such as smoking restrictions, limited access for the handicapped, or presence of pets. Guests: If you have any special needs or restrictions, please check with your host before attending an event.
Notice! Our group has merged its calendar with the one from the Broward group and some events from Miami. The icon in the rightmost column of the event indicates what group(s) are hosting that activity (B for Broward, M for Miami, P for Palm Beach County). See the legends at the bottom of this page for an explanation of other icons that may appear in this column. Most phone numbers for Broward events will be area code 954, for Miami, 305.

Friday, March 1st. [CHANGE IN VENUE] FIRST FRIDAY, 7 pm, at Colucci's Attic, 600 North Congress Avenue, Delray Beach, just north of Atlantic Avenue. A new location! A new taste sensation! Spread the word! Tell your friends and tell your enemies but don't tell the law. "Colucci's Attic is the cure for Common Cuisine." Sunday, March 10th. OUTDOOR SIG. Meet and park for free at Ann Kolb Nature Center on Sheridan Street in Hollywood. Bicycle to the Hollywood Broadwalk and then up into John U. Lloyd Park next to Port Everglades. Walk the pier on the Port Everglades Inlet and kibitz the fishing. Then we'll return and picnic at the Nature Center and explore around the Center including their 65-foot high observation tower (there's an elevator up). BYO Picnic lunch. In conjunction with OAK. Saturday, March 16th. ST. PATRICK'S DAY COVERED DISH DINNER 8:00 PM. Join us at the Vitales' for the St. Patrick's Day covered dish dinner. Joe will be preparing his usual Corned Beef dinner with potatoes, carrots, cabbage and onions (and sour cream/horseradish sauce). Bring whatever you deem appropriate for this Irish fest. Saturday, March 23rd. 7 PM. MENSA ADVENTURE IN DINING travels north to Alask..., I mean, Jupiter, for dinner at Sugar Cane Island Bistro, 353 South U.S. 1, Jupiter, 561-743-4177. Very good food, such as steaks, fish, pasta, salads at moderate prices, and a garden setting overlooking a swimming pool and a lagoon. Directions: I-95 or the Turnpike to the Jupiter exit, which is Indiantown Road. Indiantown east, over the Intracoastal, turn right on U.S. 1, then turn left at the first chance you get, and the Bistro is a block ahead of you.
