Palm Beach County Mensa Calendar of Events - December, 2001
Mensa events are open to all Mensans, their spouses, children and guests. Who may or may not attend a private home is at the host's discussion. Hosts: Please mention any special concerns about your location, such as smoking restrictions, limited access for the handicapped, or presence of pets. Guests: If you have any special needs or restrictions, please check with your host before attending an event.
Notice! Our group has merged its calendar with the one from the Broward group and some events from Miami. The icon in the rightmost column of the event indicate what group(s) are hosting that activity (B for Broward, M for Miami, P for Palm Beach County). See the legends at the bottom of this page for an explanation of other icons that may appear in this column. Most phone numbers for Broward events will be area code 954, for Miami, 305.

Nov 30 - Dec 2. AMC MEETING Come and meet AMC members who will be holding their winter meeting at the Airport Hilton, West Palm Beach. Casual hospitality open to all Mensa members in a beautiful suite overlooking interminable I-95 construction. Palm Beach County Mensa is hosting the meeting and our members would love to meet others from surrounding groups. Interested members may sit in on Saturday's (Dec. 1) official meeting and/or join us for a foray to CityPlace for dinner. Back to hospitality later in the evening. Friday, December 14th. Bike Lighthouse Point 7:00 pm. Meet at Maggie Rubin's condo. We'll take a leisurely coupla/few miles bicycle ride to see all the big beatiful houses and their fabulous light displays. Iron-persons may rollerblade or jog along. Then, we'll come back to Maggie's and raid the refrigerator. Saturday, December 22nd. A PERFECT TIME FOR HIKING Hike through one of the nicest multiple environments in South Florida, Johnathan Dickinson Park in Jupiter. This is a moderate hike, thru 6 entirely different environments. Some of it will likely be wet, and there is actually an 8-foot high hill! You'll need water, at least one quart, and we'll have a water filter with us in case we need more. The park is about 1 1/4 hours drive from Fort Lauderdale, on U.S. 1 a few miles above Indiantown Road. It's always fun, sometimes frustrating.
